Can dogs use Westward Ho! beach? The short answer is yes. Please see the map of the beach above with the local seasonal dog regulations on it. Basically if you divide the beach into two, dogs can use the 2nd half all year with no restrictions, just clean up after them.

In the Summer season from May 1st to September 31st, dogs aren't allowed on the 1st half, closest to the village. In this summer period dogs also have to be on a lead in the centre of the village, on the promenade. These regulations do really work well and allow many different type of people to all enjoy Westward Ho! together.

Dogs adore Westward Ho! beach all year but especially in the winter months when they get the whole beach to play on. Miles of golden sand to play ball on and many an adventerous walk to find.

Does Westward Ho! have dog friendly accommodation? Many of the holiday parks here accept dogs, in-fact more do than don't, but always check first. Some of them encourage it and specialise in dog holidays, you can have personal enclosed gardens for a totally relaxed time here. Many of the cottages here also actively encourage dogs, we realise for many people the thought of leaving your friends at home while you come away is too distressing. 


Do they enjoy it? Wide open spaces, beautiful secluded walks, forests, tailor made accommodation, dog friendly pubs, restaurants and shops (nearly all), special dog ice cream sold in several places, friendly locals to sniff added to a relaxed happy owner. What’s not to love?
