VE Day celebration at Westward Ho!

It will be 75 Years since World War II finished, Victory in Europe. So many people fought for freedom, fought for peace and paid the ultimate price, sacrificing their life's so we can live ours.


VE Day is to remember all these people,. the brave souls on the land, in the air, on the sea, back home in the factory's and working the land. We will be remembering them all and raising a glass to them, thanking them for our future

We will celebrate the anniversary of the end of the war in Europe and rejoice for the relative peace since. This will be a day of mixed emotions, sadness at the loss of life, joy as life could go on peacefully.

We will be playing Winston Churchill's speech declaring the unconditional surrender of Germany, have guest presenters, music and dance,

15.00 The National Toast. Westward Ho! will be part of a Nationwide toast, we will all be raising a glass to honor the brave souls of WW1 and WW2, we will never forget them.

18.55 Cry for peace around the world. At every VE Day celebration around the county, at the same time, this Cry For Peace will be read out


19.00 Churches across the country will be ringing their bells, ringing in the peace and finishing off our event.
